About
I am Tenured Faculty at CISPA and Full Professor for computer science at Leibniz University Hannover.
Broadly, I study the intersection of computer security and privacy with human factors. I’m particularly interested in investigating end users, operators, developers and designers of computer systems and their interdependencies with computer security and privacy mechanisms. My research involves large-scale analyses of the Internet and software repositories to understand the huge challenges humans face when interacting with computer security and privacy mechanisms. To understand root causes, evaluate existing mechanisms and investigate novel ideas, I conduct all kinds of user studies with end users, operators, and developers of these systems.
My research is regularly published at top-tier venues (e.g. IEEE S&P, ACM CCS, USENIX Security). You can find my papers on Google Scholar, in the ACM Digital Library, and in DBLP. This is my ORCID Profile.
If you are interested in my work, wish to collaborate with me, want to request a detailed CV or for whatever other reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.
