In this interview study, we are interested in the individual security and safety practices of open source contributors.
In this interview study, we investigate the processes and stakeholders in the design and development of cryptographic APIs, aiming to shed light on how design and implementation decisions are made, and to derive recommendations for the future.
Within this study, we are interested how software projects update cryptographic methods. This includes their motivation, developers' experiences on the update process. In addition, we aim to identify how developers can be better supported to update cryptographic methods in their projects.
Studying the experiences with implementing cryptographic standards in the open source community.
If you work in the video game industry and deal with security issues we would love to interview you about your experiences!
2022
Examination of MFA implementations and recovery processes for online services, the describtion of related procedures, and evaluation of the user experience of the recovery process.
Have you experienced code secret leakage in one of your projects in the past? We would love to interview you about your experiences preventing and remediating code secret leakage!
Does your company use open source components in software projects? We would love to interview you about the projects and your experiences!
2021
Do you contribute to Rust projects where you ever had to write unsafe code or know someone who does? We would love to interview you about your experiences working with Rust and unsafe code.
In this study, the CISPA Helmholtz-Center for Information Security examines the professional experiences of software developers in software projects in cooperation with the Leibniz University Hannover and the Max Planck Institute for Security and Privacy.
Do you contribute to open source projects, or know someone who does? We would love to interview you about the project and your experiences!
In this study, the CISPA Helmholtz-Center for Information Security examines end user strategies of password management in cooperation with the Leibniz University Hannover and the Max Planck Institute for Security and Privacy.
In this study, the computer security department at Leibniz University Hannover and Tufts University in the US conducts a research survey about participant sampling in security studies.
2020
In this study conducted by the department for Information Security at Leibniz University Hannover in Germany, we research the Use of Privacy-Enhancing Technologies of Google Play Android app developers.
In this study, the computer security department at Leibniz University Hannover investigates how developers write secure code. We examine if developers’ language proficiency has any impact on the same.
The PhD program 'Responsible Artificial Intelligence in the Digital Society' of the Research Center L3S, Leibniz Universität Hannover, Technische Universität Braunschweig and Hannover University of Applied Sciences and Arts offers 14 scholarships funded by the Ministry of Science and Culture of Lower Saxony. The disciplines involved are computer science, law and sociology. The aim of the PhD program is the interdisciplinary education of young scientists in the highly topical field of Artificial Intelligence with the focus on explainability and justification, discrimination and bias, interpretability, quality assurance and security and data protection.
The PQmail research project funded by NBank explores quantum computer resistant and usable email encryption protocols. Cryptography experts estimate that quantum computers will be able to break widely used encryption algorithms in a few years. The aim of the project is to offer secure and usable email encryption to everyone even in a post-quantum world.
